Sustainable Energy and Environmental Impact
Wood Duck Solar, now approved and set for development, is designed to generate enough electricity to power approximately 15,000 homes annually. This substantial contribution to the cleaner and greener energy grid aligns with Geenex's mission to create a more sustainable future by reducing carbon emissions, improving air quality, and enhancing energy independence.
The project will provide a reliable and sustainable source of electricity, addressing the ever-growing energy demands of modern society and contributing to the environmental well-being of the community.
Community Engagement and Planning
Barren County Judge Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd, expressing support for the project, states, "Geenex has been very forthcoming, and it has thus far been a positive experience for the landowners and Barren County. We support landowners and local farmers. We will answer any questions that you may have."
To facilitate ongoing community engagement, Geenex invites continued collaboration and communication. Further updates and details will be shared as the Wood Duck Solar project progresses towards groundbreaking and development.
Planning and Development Guidelines
With the approval secured, Geenex will proceed with submitting a comprehensive development plan to the Joint City-County Planning Commission, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Wood Duck Solar remains committed to minimal environmental impact, with property taxation at a commercial rate to contribute additional income without raising taxes on other properties.
Decommissioning and Restoration Commitments
Wood Duck Solar, now approved for development, upholds responsible development practices. A Decommission Plan Agreement will be executed, outlining the responsible parties for the removal of all components and accessories within twelve months of cessation. Cleared areas will be restored to a condition reasonably similar to their pre-development state, including the replacement of topsoil.
Geenex looks forward to a collaborative partnership with the Barren County community and local authorities as Wood Duck Solar moves forward, bringing economic prosperity and environmental sustainability to the region.
