Barren County, KY – October 2, 2023 – The Barren County Fiscal Court was bestowed with the prestigious Steward Circle recognition by the TJ Samson Community Mission Foundation during their annual Donor Appreciation Luncheon on September 29, 2023. This distinguished accolade was presented to the Fiscal Court in appreciation for their lifelong support and unwavering commitment to the Foundation's mission.
The TJ Samson Community Mission Foundation, an organization dedicated to enhancing healthcare services, promoting wellness, and improving the overall quality of life in Barren County, is privileged to recognize the Barren County Fiscal Court for its exceptional dedication to the community. The Foundation is the philanthropic branch of TJ Regional Health and has been around since 2014. The first capital project of the Foundation was the construction of the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home, which opened its doors in 2021. Since then, we've had several smaller projects that we've done, including the TJ Sweet Seats Car Seat Program and the TJ Healthcare Heroes Serenity Garden, among others. In 2022, the long-standing Barren County non-profit Community Medical Care (which has served this community for over 20 years) became a part of the Foundation.
"We are grateful to the Barren County Fiscal Court for its support of the TJ Community Mission Foundation over the years, including all of its past support of the Community Medical Care program," stated Randy Burns, Executive Director of TJ Community Mission Foundation. At our recent Donor Appreciation Luncheon, we wanted to recognize donors who had surpassed specific benchmarks in lifetime giving with the presentation of giving level (donor circle) awards. Throughout the history of the Foundation, including donations to CMC, the Barren County fiscal court has given a total of just over $108,000, placing it in the Steward Circle of donors to the TJCMF ($100,000-250,000). We are incredibly grateful for the support of our programs from the Court and, because of it, have made a difference in the lives of citizens of Barren County for 20 years."
